Peacefully, at Brantford General Hospital, after a brave battle with cancer on Friday June 20, 2014, in his 56th year.
Grant owned and operated G.O. Cleaning for many years.
Beloved husband to Laurie (nee Downham); loved dad to Melissa George (John), Christopher Oakes (Jem), Mathew Oakes (Karley), Mary Beth Schelhas (Karl), David Schelhas (Nicole), Kelly Schelhas, Casey Oakes, and Jesse Oakes. Cherished papa to Nathaniel, Gabriel, Hayley, Mason, Ryan, Quinn, and Kylie; dear brother to Fern Davenport (Ellis), Lois Heather (Bill), Alan Oakes (Heather), Keith Oakes (Cheryn), twin brother Gary Oakes (Nancy), and Sheila Schultz (Jim). Also survived by his good friend and cousin, Ann, by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Dorothy Oakes.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Grant’s Life will be held at a later date.
