Condolence From: Roy Haggart
Condolence: Denise and I extend our sincere condolence to Leila and John's entire family on John's passing. Our thoughts are with you.
It was a privilege to be one of the founding members of the Paris Jaycees along with John going back to May 3 1968. We fulfilled the Jaycee motto "Work Hard Play Hard" The entire Paris Chapter had a great deal of respect for John and of course we had a lot of fun times together as well.
As an elected Councillor for the Town of Paris John would always make a point to me about continued support for the Lawn Bowling Club by Paris Council. He always had the best interest of the club at heart.
Once in a while John and I would run into each other in downtown Paris on one of his walks, and we would stop and talk I will miss those talks.

Condolence From: Tammie Anderson
Condolence: I just wanted to add to the previous message that Dad was very passionate about lawn bowling, and even got me out on the green once to give it a try. He was determined to introduce a new generation to something he truly enjoyed. I once teased him that lawn bowling was like curling on grass, and he replied, "Yes, but if curl you fall on your butt a lot and it hurts. Lawn bowling is much safer." Some of my fondest memories will always be the Christmases our family shared in the lawn bowling club house (once our family grew too large to gather at the house). Thank you all for the good times and friendship you lavished on our father. He loved you all.

Condolence: The members of the Paris Lawn Bowling Club extend sincere condolences to Leila and family in the loss of John. We are saddened to lose such a friend who was fun, thoughtful and a life time member of the Club. The room at the club house was and always will be known as "John's office" He also enjoyed Friday night euchre and was the official bell ringer for changing tables. Whenever the bell rings on Friday nights we will think of John. We will miss him and he will remain forever in our hearts.
