Obituary for Margery Helen Cook (Whitbread)

COOK, Margery Helen (nee Whitbread)

Margery, known to some as "Chris", peacefully passed away, at the Woodstock Hospital, with family at her side on Wednesday, December 23, 2015. Born in Paris, Ontario, she was the loving daughter of the late Arthur and Mary Ellen Whitbread, the youngest of their nine children. Margery was the beloved wife of the late Michael for 57 years. She will be fondly remembered by generations of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Woodstock was home throughout her adult life where she enjoyed a long-time career in the office at Harvey Woods. Quick-witted and never without mischief, Margery was a walker, a golfer, reciter of poetry, and current events buff. She was hard-working, practical and fiercely independent: a remarkable role model for us all.

Respecting Margery's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place care of the Wm Kipp Funeral Home in Paris, Ontario. Special appreciation goes to Jean "Aggie" Reeve and Margery's extended family on Parkinson Road, for the friendship and support "Chris" always found with them. The family is exceedingly grateful for the expert care and compassion provided Margery during her final days at Woodstock Hospital. If desired, remembrances may be made to Woodstock Hospital Foundation
