Thistle, Pamela (nee Stevenson) –
Passed away peacefully at Sakura House Hospice, following a brave battle with cancer on Sunday, January 8th, 2017 at the age of 62. Daughter to Lorraine Paterson (John Bye) and the late Beryl Stevenson and John Paterson. Sister to Keith Stevenson, Kim (Roger) Miller and Doug Paterson (Anna). Devoted and loving mother of Lisa (Rick) Amoson and Stephen (Andrea) Thistle. Proud grandmother of Cole, JT, Kiley and Ciara. Pam was also cherished caregiver to many children in the Ayr community. She will be fondly remembered as “Pammy” by Erin, Megan, and Leah Quin; Simone and Connor Staats; Emmett, Rachel, Olivia, and Serena Lund; Monique and Maddie Rivard; Ryan, Autumn, and Rain Plaskitt; Bella Tomaz; Kelsey, Ariel and Erika Deutschmann; Sarah Formica; Ryan, Lauren and Tara Healy; Noah Mueller; Jase and Sadie Hunke; and Hannah, Haelyn and Holden Bast.
The family is grateful for the many friends and extended family that showed Mom so much love and support and helped her out in so many ways, especially during this past year and a half. A special thanks to the doctors, nurses and volunteers at Sakura House for the compassionate care given to Mom in her final days.
At her request, cremation has taken place. You may join the family for a visitation at the Ayr Chapel, WM KIPP FUNERAL HOME 183 Northumberland Street, Ayr on Thursday, January 12th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The memorial service will take place on Friday, January 13th at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. A luncheon will be held following the service at the Trails Edge Tavern at 46 Albert St. W Plattsville.
