Obituary for Alice Edythe Becker (Gay)

Alice Edythe Becker
With family surrounding her, Alice Edythe Becker (nee Gay) of Ayr passed away peacefully at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Sunday, April 23rd, 2017. She was in her 80th year.
Survived by her loving husband Donald of 55 years. Together they owned and operated Beckhaven Dairy Farm at Roseville. She is survived by her four children; son Donald Jeffrey of Guelph; daughter Janet and Dean Smith and their children Dylan, Connor and Avery of Toronto; son Jim of Cambridge and his children Joelle Dance (Mike) of Ayr, Andrew, Nicole of Cambridge; daughter Jill and Paul Sarazin and their children Brady and Darcy of Aurora. Predeceased by her parents James and Edythe Gay; sister Margaret and Jay Cline of Cambridge; brother Forest Gay of Houston, Texas; sister Mary Gay of Waterloo. Survived by sisters-in-law Geraldine Monnot of Ottawa; and Barbara Gay of Houston, Texas. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Donald and Alice were very active in sports in Ayr with the children. Contributing to minor hockey, softball and ringette. Alice trained and graduated in 1959 as a nurse at South Waterloo Memorial Hospital, Galt. Alice loved her time in Florida and was a skilled golfer and avid tennis and sports enthusiast.
At Alice's request cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held. Interment at Roseville Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, Ayr Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Alice to a charity of your choice supporting sports for youth.
