Tammie Anderson

I have so many memories of Aunt Irene I hardly know where to start. Some of my earliest memories involve sitting around my grandparents' dining room table where the adults had tea or coffee. It was a natural gathering place and the place where I, my siblings and my cousins learned many of the important things about life. Irene was a huge part of that. She was always loving and firm in her beliefs and treated us all equally which couldn't have been easy. There were so many of us! At one point we spent several weeks living in their home until our new house was fit for occupancy and Debbie and I shared a bed on the opposite side of Irene's room from her bed. I was in there yesterday looking for a book my Aunt Gladys wants and I was shocked by how small the room seems now. It says something about her that she could live so happily in a home that didn't have many of the luxuries that we all take for granted. We can all learn from her example. I will miss you Irene...the stories of your adventures and your rock solid belief that there are better things ahead. I will never forget our shared adventures...most especially the search for your missing car at the CNE. Everyone should be blessed with an Aunt like you. Love you, always and forever..
