Hilborn, Eleanor Jean

On a beautiful fall morning, Eleanor passed away peacefully at her home, Hilborndale Farms, New Dundee, on September 21, 2017. Beloved wife of Eden for 62 years.
Much loved mother to Donald (Sue), Robert (Kathy) and Janet Cressman (Kevin). Cherished grandmother to Victoria (Matt), Richard, Andrew, Nancy, Heather and Philip.
Predeceased by her parents Richard and Grace Bond (MacMillan) and her siblings Archibald Bond (Margaret) and Elizabeth Martin (Leon).

Eleanor will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours and friends.

Eleanor was born in Beverly Township on Aug 7,1929. As a graduate of Galt Collegiate Institute she pursued a teaching career. She will be remembered for her hospitality, excellent cooking and generosity. She chronicled farm, family and neighbourhood history via a daily diary. She was an avid gardener, the best food preserver and active in day to day activities on the farm.

Eleanor was a faithful member of Knox's Galt Presbyterian Church in Cambridge and a life long member of the New Dundee Women's Institute.

Northumberland St. Ayr on Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The service to celebrate Eleanor's life will be held at Knox's Galt Presbyterian Church, 2 Grand Ave. S. Cambridge, on Monday September 25, at 10 :30 A.M. Interment Roseville Cemetery.
