Patrick was a kind and generous friend. We shared many walks in wilderness areas in this region. Patrick was expert in spotting and identifying flora and fauna. I recall him folding a tree's leaf and taking it home in his wallet for later identification. He was a man of numerous interests to which he brought a keen intelligence. I continue to wonder about the crows' interpretations of Patrick's calls. My condolence to Anita, Jerry, and Patrick's family.
