Obituary for Jean Margaret Cline (Taylor)

Cline, Jean Margaret (nee Taylor)
January 17, 1918 – January 23, 2018
Peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 23rd at Park Lane Terrace in Paris at the milestone age of 100. Jean was a lifelong resident of Paris.
Beloved wife of the late Robert Cline (1984). Predeceased by parents Murray and Helen Taylor, brother Donald (Peggy) Taylor, brothers-in-law John (Esther) Cline and Art (Dorothy) Cline, and sisters-in-law Jean (Harry) MacKinnon and Mary (Roy) Warren.
Much loved mother to Donna (Ron) Wilson of Honeywood and Carey (Kathryn) of Ancaster. Cherished grandmother to Jennifer (Scott) Rutledge and Christopher Wilson (predeceased), Lindsay and Michelle Cline, and great-grandmother to Taylor, Trent, Brooke, and Bryn Rutledge.
Also survived by several nieces and nephews in Ontario and California.
An active member of Paris Presbyterian Church, the Helen Young Women's Auxiliary Missionary Services, as well as the Ontario Chapter of the American Bell Collectors’ Association, Jean also volunteered with children with cerebral palsy at Lansdowne Children's Centre in Brantford.
Jean took great pleasure in the joy of family. She had a keen mind and remarkable memory, which she put to use at numerous vocations over the years. She was loving and quick-witted and always strong in the face of life’s challenges. She loved animals, caring for and adoring her many pets throughout her lifetime. Jean loved being outdoors and could often be found sitting at the front entranceway of Park Lane enjoying the sunshine.
Special thanks to faithful visitors Shirley Miller and Eleanor Carter for their friendship and also to her Park Lane roommate Margaret Ashley for her companionship. The family also wishes to thank the many nurses and staff of Park Lane Terrace and Dr. John McDonald for their caring and compassionate support during her stay.
Jean was able to attend her 100th birthday party just held on Sunday, January 21st and immensely enjoyed the celebration and her time visiting with family, friends, and staff at Park Lane.
Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will be held in the spring.
Donations in Jean’s memory to the Lansdowne Children's Centre Foundation in Brantford, Make-A-Wish Canada, or Sleeping Children Around the World would be greatly appreciated.
