It is with great sadness the passing of John Van Duinkerken at Brantford General Hospital on Tuesday September 3, in his 55th year, after a valiant battle with cancer.
John will be deeply missed his beloved Janice (Jan) Van Duinkerken, Cherished son to Lammert & the late Wyoma Rose (nee MacWilliams). Loved father to Tim Moreland, Sherri Moreland (Perry Butt), Stephanie Amaral (Dennis), Jonathan, Adam, and Lillia and Emily. Much loved grandfather to Daniel, Damian, Dre, Emmalena and Marrisa. Dear brother to Wayne Van Duinkerken (Brenda) Fred Van Duinkerken (Kimberly) Marilyn Sauve, Lillia “Mena” (Brian Glackin), Wendell Van Duinkerken (Katherine) William Van Duinkerken (Lorraine) and Wyoma Van Duinkerken (Desmond Ng) and brother in law to Patsy, David, Shelly, Darryl, Late Doug Jr., Randy, Bobby, late Doug Sr., and Juanita.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
John was born in Tyne Valley, Prince Edward Island on March 21, 1959. Once he finished school he was employed as an assistant manager at Woolworth. He decided to change career path and became a Lumber Jack for approximately 15 years. After mastering lumber jacking he changed his career path one last time and became a Welder. John had many hobbies like watching westerns, cartoon movies, fishing, gardening, riding his motorcycle and doing home reno’s. The thing that kept John young was playing World of WarCraft.
Funeral service will be held at Wm Kipp Funeral Home on Thursday September 5, 2013 2:00 pm-3:00 pm family viewing and 3:00 pm-4:00 pm friends viewing, service to follow at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated
