Condolence: I will miss Verna or as I jokingly called her, Mrs. Messwin. She was such a beautiful spirited person that had a special way of making anyone near feel comfortable and important because she truly cared for others. Her laugh was infectious and even in the final months leading up to Verna leaving us, the moments I spent with her were moments that I will cherish. Oh how we laughed. Really loved that lady. Will miss you Mrs. Messwin.

Condolence: So many warm, funny, cherished memories of Verna, from working together at Frank Cowan's for many years, from delivering her paper to her when I was a kid, to our many visits in the sun porch and again at the nursing home. She always had a smile for me, even when I'm sure, she wasn't feeling much like smiling. We joked and she always wanted to know "what's new, Kid?" and we'd laugh and soon our visit would be going on 2 hours. Her love of road trips and sloppy old hamburgers, or any food for that matter, and at FCCL she was the resident chocolate tester. If you didn't like it, Verna would take it, no problem! I'm going to miss her and know now she is in a better place where she is no longer suffering in pain. She's back with Russ and enjoying a new life, love everlasting! RIP My Friend. I'll think of you often and will pay tribute to you every May 1st!!! My condolences to Wayne, Grant and the families. You were very fortunate to have such a great lady for so long. May your happy memories and stories bring you peace.

Condolence: My deepest sympathy for your loss. Verna was definitely one of a kind. She was an angel who will be remembered fondly by many. Her beautiful smile greeting me each morning when I worked at Cowan. Walking over to her house for lunch (salmon sandwich, tea and of course her delicious pickles) after she retired is a very fond memory of mine.
Gone but never to be forgotten. Rest in peace Verna. XO

Condolence: Dear Wayne, Grant and families.
We want to express our deepest condolences to you and your families on the loss of such a great lady. To my brother Larry, and sister Ruby we grew up calling her Aunt Verna because we spent so much time with her and you boys. Our late mother Agnes, and late friend Jean Hall were such close friends. We will always remember your mom's sense of humor. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with all of you in such a difficult time. Because we are away we are unable to offer our personal support. May God grant you peace.

Condolence: Having worked with Verna at Cowans' and her having played at numerous weddings for me, she proved so many times what a great woman she really was. We laughed over crazy things, and she always saw the good in life no matter what the situation. I would even trim her hair a lunch time just because she did not want to waste the time going to a shop, when it only needed to get shortened out of her eyes. She will be missed by many I am sure. Her memories that have been a part of everyone she touched will make this sad time, a little easier to face.
May God bless her and her family
