I had the priviledge of living at Sacred Heart in 1986 where Joan was the cook. I fondly remember terrific, long lunches with great conversations and laughs. Among many cooking skills, Joan taught me how to freeze fresh sweet corn on-the-cob to savour it throughout the winter. Joan loved showing her girls lots of home making skills: she just beamed when speaking about her volunteer engagements. She was a Christian who lived the witness of Christ's love.
