Obituary for Lawrence Ross "Larry" Mathewson

Mathewson, Larry (1938- 2017)
With courage and dignity Larry, passed away peacefully at his home, on Friday February 10th 2017 following a 9 year battle with MSA.
Survived by his beloved wife Diane (nee Weepers) and children Mark (Margaret), Edward Dale (Laurie), Brad (Kathy) and Kelly Gould (Jeffrey). Also missed by the loves of his life, grandchildren Kate, Aidan, Alicia, Jesse, Heather and Skylar. Loving brother to Sharron Dyment (Dan) and Mary Lee, and brother-in-law of Donna Niewinski (Ed) and Lynne Buck. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his first wife Marilyn Buck (1976), a brother-in-law Ron Buck (2011) and a nephews Guy Dyment (2004) and Robert Buck (2002)

Larry was a dedicated employee of Canadian General-Tower in Cambridge for 40 years and a long -time
member of St. Paul's United Church. He was a former President of Paris Minor Hockey and coach of Atom, PeeWee and Bantam hockey. He enjoyed many years of curling and was a participant in golf and
shuffleboard. He was an avid poker player for many years and a spectator of all sports. Larry was a volunteer cancer driver for many years
He'll be remembered as a gentleman with a firm handshake and wonderful smile.
Friends may call at the Wm Kipp Funeral Home, 184 Grand River St. N. Paris on Tuesday February 14, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Cremation followed by interment Paris Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Paul's United Church or the MS Society.
