Joyce was an inspiration to all those gentle souls who were unwilling to live the life set out for them. I remember her fondly as she said yes to herself in the best way she could through strong friendships, exploration of different ways of seeing the world, and living her own life. Of particular delight was the time in the 70s when she returned from a weekend workshop where she had learned how to give herself permission to swear out loud. Vintage Joyce. Her life force was fuelled with yearning for, striving towards, and embracing wholeness. Sometimes a beacon, sometimes looking for the light in the storm, she was always Joyce.
