Condolence: Dear Martha and family Kathy and I send you our love today. When we moved to Ganadaoweh, as Director, with three small boys we needed a good neighbour and Art was there. Maybe because I had grown up in a farming community I knew that Art could be called upon for any need. He was there to pull tractors and trucks out of the pond. He was there to repair equipment in the cold of the winter without gloves on. He was there to sharpen chainsaws. He tried to teach me but I knew if I learned then I would miss valuable time with him. Art and Martha, Brian and Shelly were the best neighbours we could have wished for.
But Art was also the man of Biblical wisdom in our neighbourhood men's group. The Bible was his yard stick for life and he shared the truths with us as needed. He also told us many stories about chainsaws, tractors and farming. Our wives wondered why our study groups lasted until midnight.
I know that I am a better Chaplain today with inmates; a better father with my 3 sons; a better grandfather; a better husband; because of the influence of Art Faus - a man of integrity, purpose and love. Praise be to our Father in Heaven for the gift of Art Faus.
