Pauline, Karen, Mark and Katie, this is a very sad day and for you is the culmination of months of anguish and grief. Now you mourn and I just want to share this moment with each of you. I can't begin to imagine what the past months have been like for John or each of you. I just hope that now his suffering is over that, in the coming days, weeks and months you will each discover a peace and relish the memories in a way that today seems impossible. John was my good friend for 45 years but he was your life and I share in your loss and mourn with you today.
