Betty and Bob McNichol

If I had been at Walt's service these are some of the memories I would tell. When I met him, he was 23/24 having emigrated to Canada, knowing no english, worked in a candy factory to learn english, then getting a job at Northern British in his trained field. At age 16 he took up telephone, he helped Bell through 3 stages of change. Walt was an avid outdoorsman, northern Ontario was his place to be. So nice that he loved Star Lake as much as the Young family that he married into. We remember fondly the Eder trips south to visit us in Perth, the cousins able to get to know each other, the trust we had in each family to care for each others children. Laughter, stiries, steambaths, campfires, blueberry picking, mushroom picking. All simple things but told the story of this man and his affection for his adopted homeland. We miss these times, we will miss you Walt.
